County Field Day 2019

There was fierce competition throughout the day at the County Field Day held at the Showground, Nantyci on Saturday 6th April 2019.
Anwen Jones, Llanllwni YFC won the title of Senior Stockman of the Year with Caryl Howells, Llangadog YFC second, Ifan Williams, Llangadog YFC third and Elgan Thomas, Llanelli YFC fourth. In the Junior Stockman of the Year, Rosie Davies, Llannon YFC, won the competition with Ryan Lee, Whitland YFC second, Tomos Griffiths, St Ishmael YFC third and Lewis Gibbin, St Clears YFC fourth. The eight will go on to represent Carmarthenshire at Wales level and good luck to them.

St Ishmael YFC boys; Harri Millin, Callum Brown and Rhydian Walters won first prize in the Senior Fencing competition with Llanddarog YFC scooping the first prize in the Junior Fence Competition. Well done to Gethin Davies, Harri Ward and Dafydd Edwards and good luck to both teams at Wales level.

Members of Llanllwni YFC won the Farm Safety Skills competition. Well done to Aled Jones, Carwyn Lewis, Betsan Jones and Alwyn Evans. Congratulations also to Rhiannon Jones and William Davies of Dyffryn Tywi YFC who won the Junior Fferm Ffactor competition. Frazer Wyatt, St Clears YFC won the Auctioneering competition. In the Cube Exhibition, Tywi Valley YFC Exhibition competition came top. Good luck to these members as they represent the County at Wales level.

In the Clay Shooting Competition, Alwyn Evans, Llanllwni YFC won the Under 17’s section, Martha Sauro, Llanelli YFC came first in the Under 26s section for Females and Rhys Meirion Evans, St Clears YFC scooped first prize in the Under 26 Male section. These members will represent Carmarthenshire at a National level and wish them well.

Thanks are also due to Aeron and Carys Owens, William Griffiths, Dewi Thomas, Eifion Jones and Lloyd Howells for using their stock in the Stockman Competition. Thanks also to Evans Brothers, Dalton’s ATVs, Aled Thomas and Rhodri Lloyd for using their machinery and trailers in the Farm Safety and to thank you to the Judges for their work throughout the day.
